For the past two weekends, I have talked about stewardship of time and talent. I reminded all of us of St. Paul’s teachings about the Church, using the image of the body and its parts. In the First Letter to the Corinthians, the good saint tells us that we are that Body, the Church. And as members, we take on the different parts. Just as the body needs the different parts to function well, the same is true with us. The Church functions much better if we all work together.

Keeping in mind St. Paul’s teaching about the Church, this weekend, we will launch our Stewardship Ministry Tool in response to our Parish Renewal Initiative. As I have said, we need everyone’s participation. In our continuing effort to re-engage our community, I ask you to take a look at the stewardship tool. Pray about it, discern, and respond – you can make a difference in our community.

There are many parish ministry opportunities. Your positive response will help us recover what was lost during the pandemic. With your help, we can rekindle this community to be even more vibrant and faith-filled. We are invited to let lose the Spirit that dwells in us. This is the time for all of us to re-ignite – to be filled with the enthusiasm that allows the Spirit to lead us in making the Risen Lord present in this community and beyond.

I pray that the Holy Spirit guides all of us in our discernment. I also ask the Blessed Mother, the first one who responded YES to God’s invitation to inspire each one of us in our prayer and reflection. And, like Her, we too may give our resounding YES to the invitation to RESPOND, RENEW and RE-ENGAGE.
