A special time just for them
All children in grades K through 5 are invited to attend Children’s Liturgy of the Word. CLOW provides an opportunity for the children to break open the Word in a “kid-friendly” and age-appropriate environment.
After the opening prayer, the children are called forward by the presider for a special blessing and are dismissed from Mass to the Parish Hall, where they will experience the scripture readings through listening, discussion and prayer. They return to Mass prior to the Liturgy of the Eucharist.
CLOW is offered during the Sunday 9:30 AM Mass, on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month. There is no registration or fee for this program.
Do you raise your hands in blessing as the children move to the Parish Hall to experience the Liturgy of the Word for Children (CLOW)? Have you ever considered who receives them when they walk out the door? Holy Spirit has a dedicated group of your fellow parishioners who give of their time each month to share the weekly readings with our children in grades K – 5. At CLOW, the children hear the same readings we hear, but then have an opportunity to discuss and unwrap each reading. CLOW is a beautiful gift to the children as they grow in faith.
Currently we are looking for CLOW catechists to take the place of our catechists who are retiring after many years of service. CLOW takes minimal time as it is offered only at 5:00pm and 9:30am Mass, all materials are provided and you are only with the children for about 20 minutes, twice a month. Catechists are scheduled well in advance and typically serve the same weekend each month.
Would you consider taking on this opportunity to serve our children at Holy Spirit, especially if your children are attending CLOW each week? If you are interested, please contact Jane Thompson at email@example.com or Melissa Brush at firstname.lastname@example.org
