Holy Spirit Finance Council

The Purpose of the Finance Council: is to aid the pastor in parish finances. They offer suggestions and strategies on the most cost-efficient practices to ensure financial stability in the parish.

Current Members

Kim Mota (Chair)

Kim and her family have been part of Holy Spirit Parish and school for the past 9 years. She is married to her husband Mike and has 2 children, Addy (8th) and son Luke (7th), who attend Holy Spirit School. Kim and her family love being part of the school and the loving community they are surrounded by. Kim also helps at the parish with community building activities, and this year there were many new opportunities to help strengthen our community! Kim and the Community Building team put on a spaghetti feed, and her mom made the sauce and meatballs!! As well as helping to host the crab feed and the event she is most proud of was the Lenten Soup Suppers, which made a successful return! Kim has a passion for helping others and is enjoying building new relationships with fellow parishioners.

Claire Martell 

Claire Martell has been a parishioner at Holy Spirit for 25 years and has been active in many of the church and school efforts.  Claire and her husband Tom have been married for over 30 years and they have two daughters who received their sacraments at Holy Spirit and both attended Holy Spirit School from Kindergarten through 8th grade.  She enjoys her second term on the Finance Council and has also served on the Parish Council and Pastoral Team. Some of her other efforts with the parish include being an ECE Teacher, two Nicaragua Missions, and participating in various programs such as Growing Your Friendship with Jesus, the Lenten Speaker Series, and others.

Claire was active for over a decade at Holy Spirit School with numerous roles in the classroom as well as leading the Parent Advisory Council, Finance Council and being the Audit Committee Chair for the Capital Campaign to build Holy Spirit School in the late 90’s.

Claire is a CPA and has a financial consulting firm, Murdock Martell, that provides accounting, finance and HR services mostly to technology and life science companies. She has also been a member of the Bishop’s Circle of Excellence, Catholic Professionals Organization, Caritas Society and on the boards of Presentation High School (2022-23) and the Santa Clara University Accounting Department Advisory Board (early 2000’s).

Frank Friedrich

Frank Friedrich has been an active parish member since January of 2004.  You likely see Frank, and his wife of almost 30 years, serving at mass as lecture and eucharistic minister on occasion.  Their children, Morgan, Travis, and Caleb also attended and graduated from Holy Spirit School, where Frank and Michele were extremely active during these formative years.  It is Frank’s goal that through prayer and service we can grow a stronger Holy Spirit community by keeping our faith in action

Gigi Gobbett

Gigi Gobbett has been a parishioner at Holy Spirit since she moved to Almaden as a newlywed over 20 years ago. She is married to Bryan and has 4 teenage children that all attended Holy Spirit School from Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade. Her children have all been baptized, had their first communion and have been confirmed at Holy Spirit Church. She has been an active volunteer and participant in many school and church activities including being a Girl Scout leader, Parent Ambassador, classroom volunteer, field trip chaperone, two Texas mission trips, sandwich ministry, Sacred Heart volunteer, serving at the Senior luncheons, serving dinner for the women’s shelter. She has been on the Parish Finance Council since Oct 2020 and served as the co-chair for the past year.

Cliff Santikul

Clifton and his family have been Parishioner’s at Holy Spirit since 2005. They have two sons, Ethan and Justin, both attended Holy Spirit School, Bellarmine and currently attend Fordham University in New York City. Clifton was born in Chicago, IL and moved to the Bay Area at an early age attending St John’s Elementary in San Lorenzo then to Moreau Catholic High School in Hayward, CA. He graduated from San Jose State University where he met his wife Carin of 24 years. Clifton and Carin enjoy giving back to the Holy Spirit Community in several ways. Clifton is a current member of the Parish Finance Council. Carin helps run the Lunch Ministry and is a Mass Coordinator and together both help lead the annual mission trip to Nicaragua. Professionally, Clifton has spent the last 28 years working in the Financial Services Industry for such companies as Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley and is currently at RBC Wealth Management. When he is not at work Clifton enjoys golfing where he is a member at Sliver Creek Valley Country Club and Cordevalle. Additionally, he has a passion for wine and holds a Level 2 Sommelier Award in wine.
