Prayer Shawls Ministry

About the Ministry:

Compassion and the love of knitting/crocheting have been combined into a prayerful ministry and spiritual practice which reaches out to those in need of comfort and solace, as well as celebration and joy. Many blessings are prayed into every prayer shawl.
The shawl maker begins with prayers and blessings for the recipient. The intentions continue throughout the creation of the shawl. Upon completion, a final blessing is offered before the shawl is sent on its way.
Shawls can be used for: undergoing medical procedures; comfort after a loss and bereavement; during times of stress; prayer or meditation; birthing, nursing a baby; bridal shower or wedding gift; during an illness and recovery; ministering to others. There is no charge for the shawl – donations are always welcomed. If you have questions or are interested in this Ministry, connect with Merry at merry.reardon@dsj.org or call Sandy Palodichuk at 408-268-7821.

Tangible Signs of Love and Prayer

POCKET-SIZED PRAYER SHAWLS

Sometimes you may not able to have a prayer shawl with you.  The Prayer Shawl Makers offer this pocket/purse size option instead.

The little “shawls” are just the right size, approximately 2”x3”.  Perfect for mailing to someone in need of comfort to remind them of the love and prayers that it contains.
