Christ is Risen! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

Dear Parishioners and Friends of Holy Spirit Parish:

The Easter Triduum is the most important celebration of the Church.  It is in fact at the heart of the Liturgical celebration.  This is the time for us to remember, celebrate, and give thanks for what has been done for us in Jesus Christ.  By sending His Son, God revealed the immensity of His love for us.  By dying Jesus, destroyed death and by rising he has restored all of us to everlasting life.

Today, I greet all of you for the first time as your pastor a very Happy and Blessed Easter.  I thank all of you for your presence in all of our Holy Week Liturgies either in person or virtually.  I also extend warm welcome to anyone who is visiting with us from other places or faith backgrounds.

Although there is already a sense of normalcy in parish life, our Easter celebration is still different.  No matter what adjustments we have made in the past, there is one thing that has never changed – the love of God for all of us.

As we gather these great fifty days, we are reminded of the beautiful gift of Life, the Spirit, and Peace that the Risen Lord blessed each of His disciples.  Filled with God’s gifts, we are to be courageous, to be hope-filled, and to be joy-filled.  The Risen Lord is even more present in our midst because no one and nothing can separate us from the love of God.

I congratulate and welcome all of those who have been initiated into the Church on Easter Vigil.   The RCIA team, their sponsors, and parents who have journeyed with them are greatly appreciated. To the many volunteers, the Liturgy committee, the music ministry team, the lectors, extra ordinary ministers of the Eucharist, mass coordinators, ushers, those who helped checking in and seating, set up and clean up, and the environment committee – Thank you!

Fr. Edgar and I are very grateful for your presence.  Please pray for both of us, the Parish and the School staff.  Know that we will pray for you, your loved ones, and your intentions.  We may not see each other each day, but we meet each day in our prayers.

Again, Blessed and a Joyful Easter to all of you!

In Christ, the Risen Lord,
Fr. Ritche
