Welcome, Mary!

 In Pastor's Notes-Fr. Ritche

After a year of evaluating the needs of the parish and after consultation with the parish staff, I decided to hire a new business manager.  You are aware that Penny, who was the business manager, retired and moved to Florida last year.  Her ministry was very important in looking at the pastoral needs of the parish. She also worked with Fr. Brendan and the Finance Council in ensuring the financial health of the Parish.

In order for us to continue those important ministries, I believe that a new business manager would be very helpful.  Mary Sparacino, who will be coming on board effective July 12th, will continue to work in managing the office, enhancing communications, and in ensuring our financial stability.

Mary comes to us with great experience.  As a parishioner of St. Justin in Santa Clara for many years, she serves as a member of the Finance Council.  She also chaired their Parish Pastoral Council and worked hard at raising $1.1 million for the church’s renovation. She is an accomplished professional with experience in finance, personnel, facilities and general office management.  She has proven to produce an efficient and harmonious operation and partnering skills critical for communication across lines of business, management and departments.  She worked with United Spirit Association as an office manager.  She also worked for Varsity Spirit Corporation, dba United Spirit Association as the administrative Vice President.

I am very pleased to welcome Mary as a member of our Parish Staff.  I am sure she will be a good addition to our competent staff.  Her ministry here in our Parish will help us continue a vibrant, Spirit-filled, and hope-filled community.  Mary will be around at Masses next weekend to give us the opportunity to meet her.

I’d also like to announce that in addition to being the Director of Youth Ministry, Row David, will assume the responsibility of being the Director of Social Ministry.  As many of you know, before the pandemic, Row worked closely with Mike Ferrero especially in our Nicaragua and Texas Mission Trips.  And through his leadership, our youth has been very active in ministering to the less fortunate.  I am sure that Row will do great in both ministries.  On your behalf, I’d like to thank Row for his willingness to assume this added job.

Finally, I’d ask that we continue to hold each other in prayer.  May the Spirit who is actively present in our midst guide us and bless us with courage, wisdom, and patience in our daily lives.  Mary, Mother of the Church, pray for us!
