Pastor’s Note 12-6-2020

 In Pastor's Notes-Fr. Ritche

Dear Holy Spirit Community,

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I would like to express my gratitude to all of you for being a part of our community and your continued support and generosity to Holy Spirit Parish.  Your support through time, talent and treasure is what fills our community with life and love. Thank you!

COVID-19 has changed the way we interact, and the church is not immune to those changes.  Amid social distancing and shelter in place, our Holy Spirit Parish is blessed with the ability to continue live stream our Sunday and Weekday Masses.  Through the help of modern technology, we are also able to continue many different ministries like our school, faith formation, youth gatherings, recollections, retreats, and other programs. We are able to continue these ministries only because of your generosity.

Your continued weekly gifts allow us to continue the operations of the parish.  Thank you!  At this time, I’d like to ask you for a few things.  If you aren’t registered to give online, please consider doing so with this link.  This is the best way to give during this time.  If you need help, you may simply contact Annie Bui at phuong.bui@dsj.org and she will be glad to assist you. I would also like to ask those who are able to increase your regular gift. A five percent increase to your giving will help us sustain and meet the needs of our parish.

In addition, this year we celebrate Holy Spirit School’s 20th Anniversary!  Holy Spirit School is our largest parish ministry. We are committed to an education based on faith, knowledge and community while focusing on the development of the whole child. If you are able you might consider making an additional gift to our new Holy Spirit School Legacy Fund to continue Father Murray’s vision of providing a Catholic Education for our future generations.  Our goal is to raise an additional $120,000 to increase the value of this legacy fund from $330,000 to $450,000! Here is the link to give to the Legacy Fund online.

As a Church we are family, the family of God. We help each other whenever there is a need. Family helps one another and I ask you to help the rest of our Church family through continued generosity. We share with each other and help one another overcome difficulties. That is the way family works.

As always, I join you in prayer asking our loving God that through the power of the Holy Spirit, He may guide and protect us as we continue to journey in hope through these uncertain times.

  God bless,

  Fr. Ritche Bueza
