Operation Celebration

We are the “CLAMAMAEM” group of Girl Scout Cadettes namely Claire, Mady, Maggie and Emma at Holy Spirit School troop #62938. Our goal is to earn the prestigious SILVER AWARD, the highest honor for a Girl Scout Cadette, by addressing an important issue in our community and creating a meaningful project with a lasting impact.

Our project “OPERATION CELEBRATION” aims to bring joy to unhoused pregnant and new mothers with their children in 2 shelters HERITAGE HOME and HOUSE OF GRACE.

During our visits to these shelters, we learned about the hardships these mothers endure, unable to celebrate important moments like Christmas, baby showers and birthdays. To change this, we plan to organize an annual party for them, starting with an event in Greystone Park in Almaden in October. We kindly ask for your support:

In-Kind Donations: Help us create birthday gift baskets for moms, including movie tickets, postpartum underwear, socks, bath items, grooming products, and toys for the children. You are welcome to drop off donations at designated containers on the Holy Spirit campus.

If you have any ideas or can provide support, we seek food, drinks, and your time to help at this event. You may contact Mady, mmaddela-hss@dsjschools.org or call Lily Maddela at (408) 644-0197.

Monetary Donations: Support us through the “PINK FLAMINGO FLOCKING ACTIVITY,” where we decorate lawns with pink flamingo lawn ornaments until a donation is made to transfer them to another friend’s lawn. Sign up here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C084FA4A629A6FCC52-pink.

Your support brings moments of joy and hope to the most vulnerable in our community. Thank you for being a part of this meaningful project. Together, we can make a lasting difference.
