August 3rd – Latest COVID-19 Update

 In Pastor's Notes-Fr. Ritche

We are all hearing about the rising number of Covid-19 cases because of the Delta variant. The CDC, the County of Santa Clara and other Bay Area Counties have mandated the use of face covering in indoor settings.  After careful review of the new COVID guidelines from the County and in consultation with medical experts, the Diocese of San Jose is requiring the use of face covering for indoor worship regardless of vaccination status effective immediately.

Please note that this is a temporary measure that will help us deal with the Delta variant.   In addition to wearing a mask, vaccination continues to be our best defense against COVID-19 infection and harm that it can do to our community.  I would like to encourage those who have not yet been vaccinated to please do so when possible.  As the County and medical experts say: “Vaccines are safe, effective and free.”

Because of the new requirement, I consulted with our parish staff, parish pastoral council, and school leadership about the upcoming August 22nd picnic.  The unanimous recommendation is to postpone our picnic to ensure the safety and the well-being of all.

I know that many of us have been looking forward to this gathering.  However, as I’ve said in the past, your safety is my top priority.  I know this may cause disappointment, but I remain hopeful that in the near future, we can all gather safely to celebrate the gift of our community. Thank you for your patience, understanding, cooperation, and flexibility.

Let us all continue to be safe and pray for one another.
