You Are Invited!

 In Pastor's Notes-Fr. Ritche

These past few weeks, you have heard me speak about Lent as a time of rending and tending our hearts. It is a process of renewal of faith, a time for change that digs deep into our hearts, where God resides. It is a journey towards reconciliation.

To enhance this journey, I invite you to join in our Parish Reconciliation Service on Tuesday, April 12 at 7:00pm. This is another way of preparing our hearts and lives so that we truly can celebrate the joy of Easter. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is an opportunity for us to return to the Lord. The sacrament is a celebration of the grace of forgiveness that God constantly offers to each one of us.

The story of the Prodigal Son tells us of our God who is lavish and prodigal in His forgiveness. He waits for our return and when He sees us, He runs towards us and embraces us. No questions asked. No reservations. The Father offers His forgiveness and restores us back to who we really are – His beloved sons and daughter. Upon our return, there is much rejoicing in God. He prepares and invites us to the banquet of love.

We have invited several priests to help us with individual confessions. Let this sacrament be part of our Holy Week observance so that we can, as the Prophet Joel said when Lent started on Ash Wednesday, “Return to me with your whole heart… rend your hearts not your garments…”

If you are unable to join us that evening, Fr. Edgar and I are also available by appointment. You may call us or send us an email. Let us know and we will help you celebrate and rejoice in the abundance of God’s love.
