Using Your Faith to Stay Hopeful!

In Pastoral Care - Prayer Min.

The current challenges to our health, safety, and peace in our world today may tend toward brokenness, but our Catholic practices of prayer and gratitude have the power to heal not only our hearts, but our world. Taking time each morning and evening to focus, even briefly, on gratitude can bring hope and transformative energy to our lives. Paying attention to even the tiniest good that surrounds us, even as we acknowledge the difficulties, can improve our health and our spirit. Finding small things to be grateful for can keep us energized in our efforts to make our world more just and equitable for all.

This week to jumpstart, join in the solidarity of a gratitude practice by jotting down ten things you are grateful for. Five days later, make a new list of ten (or more!) items and then compare. Practice sharing your gratitude by writing a thank you note to someone. If you enjoy letter writing, write one a day for a week and reflect on what graces might have come just from this simple practice. Research shows that writing a gratitude letter will promote happiness and well-being which increases energy to take positive action… a way for Jesus to do good through you!

Holy Spirit Church is grateful every member of our Community! Be well!
