Update on Indoor Worship

 In Pastor's Notes-Fr. Ritche

God is very good! We have moved to the Orange Tier in Santa Clara County! Thanks be to God!

Although we have moved to the Orange Tier and have been given the green light to worship indoors, I am recommending we do not rush going back into the church building. I am working with the parish staff on some logistics so that we can safely celebrate the Eucharist. Having said that, we will begin our indoor worship on the weekend of October 24/25. The parish staff is committed to ensuring your safety.

In preparation for this transition, we are preparing a video that will help you get acquainted with the “new normal.” The video will include what to expect when arriving for Mass, seating, Communion, and other directives from the county and the Diocese. It is imperative that we strictly follow the county guidelines while in the Orange Tier so that we can move towards the Yellow Tier which has lesser restrictions. I’d like to stress the importance of washing our hands frequently, not touching our eyes, nose, or mouth with unclean hands, sanitize frequently touched areas, and wearing a mask.

After consulting with the Staff, the Parish Pastoral Council, and the Liturgy committee, I have decided to temporarily move the 8:00 am Sunday Mass to 7:30 am beginning October 25 to give us time to clean, sanitize and prepare the church for the next Mass. I apologize for any inconvenience, but my top priority is your safety.

Friends, we are doing quite well and on the right track. But we need everyone’s participation and cooperation as we move towards healing and mitigating the spread of the virus. Doing our part in following the health directives is not only an act of charity but also a moral imperative.

Our God is a God of hope. Let us continue to be vigilant in our prayer and in taking good care of ourselves and one another. We ask the Holy Spirit to continue to guide and strengthen us on our journey. May Mary our Mother and St. Joseph our patron protect and intercede for us before our God.

I look forward to seeing, gathering, and worshipping with you INDOORS!

God bless you,
Fr. Ritche
