Feeding the Hungry
Feeding the Hungry
Holy Spirit Church offers an opportunity to help those in our city that need our help. We hope you will consider joining us in this important ministry as we serve our community.
Please note: Out of concern for the safety, health, and lives of our parishioners, staff, volunteers, and that of the general public, we are offering this opportunity in the safety of your own home.
Twice per month (January thru June & September thru December) Holy Spirit Church will offer an opportunity for eight families or individuals to make sandwiches that will be distributed to those in need by Casa de Clara, John the 23rd, Loaves and Fishes, or Amigos de Guadalupe. There are two ways you can help!
WAY 1: PACK LUNCHES
Here is how it will work:
Drop Off: All necessary items will be left at your front door, between 10:30-11:30 AM, the Saturday before your designated pick-up day.
Important: If you do not make the sandwiches right away, take the meat and cheese out of your bin and place them in the refrigerator.
Making the lunches: You make the sandwiches and assemble the lunches in the safety of your own home. All items including instructions will be in the bin.
Pick Up: Assembled lunches are then placed (in bin provided) at your front door for pick-up on your designated pick-up day. You will receive a text message the night before (to the number you provide), with a time frame of when the bin will be picked up. Please place the bin on your doorstep just prior to the pickup time.
WAY 2: MONETARY DONATIONS
Packing lunches isn’t the only way to help! We are always looking for financial support to purchase the lunch supplies and we would be most grateful for all contributions. It costs approximately $500 to fully fund the 240 lunches we provide each month. Any amount is greatly appreciated!
Donate here: https://holyspiritchurch.org/online-giving/ and choose the Sandwich Ministry Fund.
Even though this ministry does not provide the face-to-face encounter we all miss, please know that the sandwiches you make will feed someone in need.
Thank you for being the Hands of Christ to others through your service.
