Easter Greetings

First, let me greet all of you with a very Happy and Blessed Easter!  To all our guests joining us this year, thank you for choosing Holy Spirit as your place of worship to celebrate “This Day” of resurrection and new life. We are so delighted that you are here.  If you need more information about our Holy Spirit Community, please do not hesitate to ask one of the staff members.  We are here for you!

Easter comes to us every year to remember what God has done for us in Jesus.  Even though this happened over two thousand years ago, it continues to amaze us.  As Henri Nouwen, a renowned spiritual writer, beautifully put it: The resurrection of Jesus was a hidden event. Jesus didn’t rise from the grave to baffle his opponents, to make a victory statement, or to prove to those who crucified him that he was right after all. Jesus rose as a sign to those who had loved him and followed him that God’s divine love is stronger than death. To the women and men who had committed themselves to him, he revealed that his mission had been fulfilled. To those who shared in his ministry, he gave the sacred task to call all people into the new life with him.

This is Easter!  It is a statement of who our God is.  He is the God of love and life. He is the God of new beginnings!

As Jesus’ disciples, may we know His joy, and may it be the foundation of our hope that Jesus’ message of love redeems our world. It is in deep gratitude for all of you that I pray to our Lord. May the joy of Jesus Christ, the Risen Lord, be yours today and during this Easter season.

God bless,

Fr. Ritche
