Celebration Time!

 In Pastor's Notes-Fr. Ritche

One of the strengths of our parish is our strong sense of community. Many of you have told me that one of the major reasons you come to Holy Spirit is your feeling of belonging. “We know each other by name,” “There is camaraderie,” and “The Body of Christ is alive!” are just a few of the statements I’ve heard.

As we slowly and cautiously emerge from the pandemic, it’s now time for us to renew and strengthen this bond of community that we’ve been so sorely missing for the past 18 months. Some of you might have noticed that we’ve begun reinstating programs and ministries, so that we can begin to feel “normal” again. In addition to inviting you back to Mass, we’re now ready to rebuild our relationship with Christ – and with one another.

The pandemic increased feelings of isolation and alienation within our community, and disrupted our ability to engage with one another. But nothing can stop the power of God’s love for us and the presence of the Spirit! Therefore, I’m overjoyed to invite all of you to join us for our Parish-wide gathering to say, “Welcome Back, Holy Spirit Community!” Please join us for an afternoon of fun, music, food, reflection and community building. This outdoor event will be held next Saturday, October 23rd, at 1:00PM in our school’s courtyard. It’s a wonderful opportunity to re-engage with fellow parishioners you haven’t seen for a while, meet new families, and learn more about what’s “new” in our community. All in a safe and socially-distanced manner.

I can honestly say that this will be the event of the year, and you don’t want to miss it! This event is FREE but we need you to RSVP here, so that we can plan accordingly.

The success of this event depends on all of us. While the weather is nice, unlock our doors of isolation and fear, and have fun together as a community! I look forward to seeing you there!
