Catechetical Sunday

 In Pastor's Notes-Fr. Ritche

This weekend, we celebrate Catechetical Sunday. We take time to recognize and honor our school teachers who strive to provide our students with the foundation they need. We remember those who answered God’s call to pass on our faith to our youth in programs of Faith Formation, RCIA, Domestic Church and Growing Our Friendship With Jesus. Also, those who are walking the journey of preparation for the sacraments of Reconciliation, First Eucharist and Confirmation. They have chosen to act, to carry out their discipleship, in striving to teach our children the teachings of Jesus Christ and how much He loves each one of them. We honor and bless them today.

The theme of Catechetical Sunday this year is: “This is my body given for you”. The Eucharist is the source and summit of our Christian life. Our teachers and catechists strive every time they walk into the classroom to be that example of discipleship and to teach our children the teachings of Jesus Christ and how much He loves each one of them. How, through the Eucharist, we become what we receive; Christ to others.

Please join me in thanking our teachers and catechists for what they give and keep them in your prayers.
