A Million Thanks, John!

 In Pastor's Notes-Fr. Ritche

The name John means “God has shown favor.” We have experienced that in John Kellett’s ministry as our music director. When I think of the beautiful music John led, played, and chose to lift up our collective hearts in song, prayer and worship… for the many newly initiated members of our Church and those who have been laid to rest, I could not help but extend a mighty and thunderous ‘God bless’ you and thank you for the four years of good and faithful service to this parish.

More than a week ago, John told me he has decided to move on from Holy Spirit, effective November 26, 2021. His love for music has led him to a deeper appreciation of the Church’s liturgy and to pursue further studies in theology. This, he hopes, will help guide him to wherever God leads him in his future ministry. John’s passion for music will certainly be missed.

In the spirit of gratitude, I ask you to join me in thanking John for the years he ministered to us. One of the songs he often played was “Miracle of Grace.” Through song John has lifted our hearts in knowing that God “calls us to venture to the deep. Though our senses fail, [God’s] graces still prevail, and we become the love that we receive.”

We wish John all the best in the next chapter of his professional and ministerial life. We pray for God’s blessing in all he decides to do.
