Holy Spirit has second offeringss to help the Catholic Church in areas of vocations, missions, education, and more, or to send emergency relief to communities around the world. Below are our upcoming second offerings.
Next week, August 4th & 5th, our parish will take up a collection for the Solidarity Fund for the Church in Africa. While the Church in Africa is growing, many still lack access to basic resources and pastoral care and are challenged by high rates of poverty and unemployment, illiteracy, and poor education. The Solidarity Fund supports pastoral projects that strengthen their faith and foster lasting peace and reconciliation on a continent often marked by division and tension. To learn more, visit www.usccb.org/africa.
This appeal collection, on May 20th & 21st, allows local Catholics, and others who are committed to our mission, to join the works of the Holy Father in supporting Catholic Charities, the social justice arm of the Diocese. Together, we are putting our faith in action to help to relieve the suffering of our community’s most vulnerable families and individuals.
We advocate for our neighbors in need, in partnership with parishes and community organizations, through six Community Impact areas, including the Good Samaritan Fund to help us respond quickly to critical needs of the people we serve: food, housing, economic development, health and education.
