Social Ministries

Creating hope, opportunity and action

Sacred Heart Community Service is a non-denominational, non-profit organization which provides integrated services onsite free of charge to all in need. The programs offered are in three main categories: Essential Services (food, clothing, housing, and utility assistance), Self Sufficiency (education, family support, and employment), and Policy and Organization (training low income volunteers to work together to address the needs of their community).

Holy Spirit Parish supports and volunteers for many of the programs at Sacred Heart. Below is a list of ongoing and current opportunities to serve.

Survival Sacks

Volunteers gather on the first and third Thursdays of the month to organize supplies, make hygiene kits, fill backpacks and distribute Survival Sacks to the homeless.

Join us October 5th and 19th. More details to come!

Saturday at Sacred Heart

Every third Saturday of the month, volunteers pack food bags, sort produce, organize clothing donations, and any other task necessary to prepare for the week ahead.

Join us Saturday, October 21st. More details to come!

Weekly Services

Many of our parishioners volunteer every week to work in the Food Pantry and Clothes Closet, and to help with the Job Link and Gleaning Programs.
