The Social Ministries Committee is responsible for the implementation of all social ministries activities and programs at Holy Spirit Parish. The Committee is responsible for the vision, planning and implementation of a broad array of programs conerning direct service and outreach to the poor, advocacy and immersion trip experiences. The Committee’s primary goal is to provide parishioners with rich and diversified opportunities for them to do Christ’s work and experience his love.
The mission of the Holy Spirit Parish Social Ministries Committee is to create a culture of service and justice that permeates parish life; to empower our Holy Spirit community to fulfill the mission of the church by continually responding to those in need.
To create local, national and international opportunities to serve others that effectively engage the entire parish community.
To integrate, coordinate, support and expand the diverse outreach and justice activities currently existing in the parish.
To strengthen a sense of community and fellowship within the Parish.
To develop lay leadership through education, evangelization and the creation of a wide variety of leadership opportunities.
To evangelize to the parish about the Church's commitment to service and the particular needs of the poor in our community.
To support the effort to provide adult education on Catholic Social Teaching.
To provide education and advocacy on issues regarding poverty, injustice, and environmental stewardship.
